Facial Aesthetics

We can re-build your confidence with a great smile

Facial Aesthetics

Facial Aesthetic treatments are, essentially, a non-surgical way of reducing the appearance of fine lines, folds in the skin and wrinkles on the face. Most aesthetic treatments are anti-ageing and designed to help mask or even (potentially) delay the signs of ageing. Facial Aesthetics can soften lines and help to redefine facial contours, thereby refreshing and rejuvenating the skin.

The face is the part of the body most seen by others and the skin is the largest organ our body possesses. Over time many things can affect and/or alter the appearance and elasticity of the skin on our face: from illness to weather, our faces are exposed to virtually everything.

Here, at Celtic Dental, both dental surgeons have undertaken additional training to be able to carry out Botox and dermal filler treatments. These treatments can help boost an individuals’ confidence as there will always be a reduction in fine lines and wrinkles.

Botox – Botulinum Toxin Type A.

Botox is an injectable neurotoxin that works by blocking signals to the muscles, thereby causing them to relax. This, in turn, softens expression lines and wrinkles. Botox injections are reasonably safe when administered by an experienced clinician. However, you may experience some pain, swelling and/or bruising at the site of the injections.

An ultrafine needle is used to inject tiny amounts of Botulinum Toxin A into your skin or muscles. The number of injections you need will depend on many factors, including your skin type and how extensive the area to be treated is.

Results are usually seen in 24-72 hours and will last several months. To maintain the look of your skin however, you will need regular follow-up treatments.

Dermal Fillers

Hyaluronic acid occurs naturally in the skin and is responsible for hydrating the skin and keeping it looking healthy. Unfortunately, levels of hyaluronic acid in the body decrease with age; that’s where dermal fillers come in! Dermal fillers are a gel-like substance (mostly hyaluronic acid), injected under he skin to smooth and rejuvenate selected areas. Results are seen immediately and can last for up to 9 months at a time, making it cost effective too.

Dermal fillers are also used to treat conditions, not related to age, such as severe acne and scarring.

Please speak to your dentist if you would like more information.
